My last blog was about my STILE habits for a healthy lifestyle. These habits are still great but very recently I noticed there's one missing piece in the puzzle: the food.
What food you eat matters a lot. Luckily it's not difficult to avoid few crucial mistakes which is consuming too much of:
- ultra processed foods, like sugary drinks, processed meats, candies (except chocolate) and fast food
- simple sugars - like glucose-fructose syrups including agave - fruits are okay
- alcohol - anything above zero is too much
So with that in mind I am updating my habits guideline from STILE to ITSELF:
- I / Intermittent Fasting. IF is a great routine that is not only healthy but also boosts your cognitive capacity.
- T / Quality Time. Quality Time is something which defies a rigid definition but when you have it, you will know it.
- S / Sleep. Go to bed about the same time every day and strive for 7-8 hours of sleep.
- E / Exercise. Prefer anaerobic exercise like HIIT and strength training.
- L / Learning. Keep learning new things or improving your existing skills.
- F / Food. Avoiding ultra-processed foods, simple sugars, and alcohol will not only make you healthier but also happier.
I think this advice speaks for itself 😉
